THE BEGINNING

The first iteration of Fleur de Leesh was sparked by my love of Disney World! In 2016, I was a costume intern at a regional theatre in Florida and just about EVERYONE (well the younger employees anyways) that worked there had season passes to Disney and went almost every other weekend. Obviously, I had to get one too! I was then introduced to the world of custom disney ears by a co-worker who created and sold them. I learned how to create them and ended up selling my own designs, which I did for a few years.

WHY FLEUR DE LEESH?

As you may have guessed - Fleur de Leesh is a play on the French "fleur de lis" and my nickname "Leesh." My father is from Louisiana so the name also speaks to my Louisiana/French Creole roots. Ultimately, I chose the name because I wanted something that reflected me but was open-ended enough for a multi-hyphenated creative like myself that changes up what passions I want to explore and devote my time to.

THE REBIRTH

Since the end of 2020, I have been working in costume departments for TV & Film. In 2023 due to the writers and actors strikes (which I FULLY supported), I found myself unemployed. I didn't want to do just any job and was struggling to figure out my next move. Randomly one day I saw an ad about an industrial embroidery machine and how you could use it to create an embroidery business. Safe to say I went for it! This new version of Fleur de Leesh has been going strong since September 2023. I'm so excited to see how this new journey will continue to grow and flourish!
